Quentin Coryatt Biography

Quentin Coryatt is one of the most popular and richest American Football Player who was born on August 1, 1970 in St. Croix, United States Virgin Islands. Quentin John Coryatt, born August 1, 1970, is an American football linebacker who played in the National Football League for both the Indianapolis Colts (NFL) and the Dallas Cowboys. He played college football for Texas A&M University. He is the first Crucian to participate in the National Football League.

In 1996. He was a restricted-free agent and was signed to a $17.5million offer sheet by Jacksonville Jaguars. The Colts eventually matched it, so he would stay with the team. After tearing 20% of his left pectoral muscles and then later in the season, tearing his right, potentially career-threatening, pectoral muscle from the bone, he played only eight games. He had 58 tackles and 4 quarterback pressures. There were also 2 fumble recovery attempts and one forced fumble.

The Dallas Cowboys gambled that Coryatt could regain his form and signed him as a free agent on April 17, 1999. He was expected to be the starter at strongside linebacker, but was slowed down by an Achilles injury suffered during a June minicamp and also had problems with his surgically reconstructed left shoulder.

After not being able to overcome his injuries, he initially announced his retirement on September 14. He tried again to come back in December, playing in 4 games (one start), while making only one tackle. He was released on February 13, 2000.

Vince Tobin, the new defensive coordinator, was appointed in 1994. He moved Coryatt from right outside linebacker to the position of defensive coordinator. There, he recorded 141 tackles, 6 passes defensed and 1 sack. He also set the Steelers’ franchise record for longest fumble return at 78 yards.
